What USB to Serial Adapter should I buy / use for my Neurofeedback equipment ?

There are many USB to Serial adapters available from several vendors. Many of these USB to Serial Adapters do not work with Neurofeedback equipment or have been found to be problematic.

If you have a BrainMaster amplifier or EEG Info QIK Test use only an adapter from one of the following Brands:
  • KeySpan
  • SIIG
  • Belkin
  • Airlink101
If you have an EEG Info NeuroAmp amplifier use only an adapter from one of the following Brands:
  • KeySpan
  • DO NOT USE the Airlink101 adapter or any adapter using the Prolific chipset with the EEG INFO NeuroAmp.

Do Not use adapters made by DYNEX. Unfortunately these adapters are the ones that are most commonly found at BestBuy, Circuit City, CompUSA and RadioShack.

Adapters using Prolific Chipsets
Adapters that contain Prolific chips are known to NOT be compatible with the EEG Info NeuroAmp. These adapters cause Sync Errors during use and should be avoided. The Airlink101 uses the Prolific chips and thus is not recommended for use with NeuroAmp.

To purchase a KeySpan USB to Serial adapter , call EEG INFO, 818-373-1334 .
