| Instructions for using wireless rumble pad with Dual Drive Xtreme |
Below are instructions for using the wireless game pad with DualDrive Xtreme
Using the Logitech Rumble Pad with DDX:
(Make sure there are 2 AA Batteries installed in the Rumble Pad.)
- Plug in USB Wireless Base into any available USB port.
- Allow windows to detect the new device - you will see the computer say "Found New Hardware" - When that message disappears you can proceed.
- Press the button on the USB wireless base.
- Allow a few moments for the RumblePad and the base to sync to one another. The light inside the base unit will flash rapidly indicating that it is searching for the controller. Once connected the light in the base unit will go out, and will come on again when any button or control stick is manipulated on the game controller.
- Open DDX and click the button that says Options.
- Uncheck the "Computer steers car (play hands free)" box.
- Click OK and start a Dual Drive Mission
- Once the mission countdown begins, press the 1 key on the game pad to engage or disengage the controller.
- Use the left joystick on the Rumble Pad to steer the car.
How does the controller work?
- The 1 Button engages and disengages the game controller from the game.
- The 2 Button will cause the car to move in reverse
- The 3 button will cause the car to move in reverse in small increments (Need to hold down to make it keep going)
- The 4 Button will accelerate the car forward in small increments (Need to hold down to make it keep going)
- Note: If you get too far off track or you miss checkpoints your laps may not be counted. A strategy to make sure that you are staying on course is to make sure you have opponents and to pay attention to the direction of the other cars.
- New feature: Now there is a compass to tell the client the direction that they need to go to finish the course
Cool Tips:
- Click somewhere on the game first before trying the Key Combinations
- If the driver ends up stuck in a tree, in a pit or otherwise finds that they cannot go anywhere you can press:
Ctrl R - Resets the client back on course
Ctrl O - Opens the "Options" control panel for DDX
Ctrl L - Open the "Launcher" or "Level Selection" menu
Ctrl N - Advance the game to the "Next Level"
- Remember to check the Computer steers car (play hands free) box When you are not using the Rumblepad
