Alpha Theta Music Program

This is Professor John Gruzelier’s presentation, at the Biofeedback Foundation of Europe/ISNR meeting in February 2003, and also at the AAPB meeting in Jacksonville in 2003, about the research on SMR/beta and Alpha/Theta neurofeedback at the Conservatoire at Imperial College, London.

Mind-Body Connections

This is an earlier, more general presentation by Professor John Gruzelier on immune system consequences of hypnotherapy. Tangible benefits for immune system factors were demonstrated, along with reductions in illness under stress, as well as reduction in anxiety measures. One aspect of the study showed positive impact of specific immune-related imagery in the hypnotherapy. This study collectively makes the case for mind-body interactions.

Egner_aapb 2003

This is Tobias Egner’s presentation on SMR/beta training, at the AAPB meeting in Jacksonville. The hypothesis of opposite effects on commission errors of SMR and beta training was not supported. Beta training (as opposed to SMR) was shown to decrease reaction times. SMR training (versus beta) was shown to improve omission errors. Both SMR and beta training demonstrated significant P300 learning curves.
