How to Check Computer Specs for Cygnet Software

Windows 10

  • Right-click on desktop. Click Display settings. 
  • Click on Advanced display settings.
  • Click on Display adapter properties
  • On the Adapter tab and locate "dedicated video memory"
  • Dedicated Video Memory should be at least 2GB (or 2048 MB). SEE ARTICLE:  Minimum Recommended Computer Configuration for Cygnet
  • If it says integrated, or you do not see "dedicated Video memory" then you'll need to use a different computer.*
NOTE: If your computer has Intel Integrated Graphics and a NVIDIA Graphics card, then it may not show up using the method listed above. In this case, right-click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel. Then, click on system information at the bottom-left corner of the window. 



Windows 7 or 8.1

  • Right-click on desktop. Click Display settings. 
  • Click on Advanced Settings
  • On the Adapter tab and locate "dedicated video memory"

Checking Additional System Specs (OS, Processor, RAM)

  • Click on Windows start button
  • Right click on Computer
  • Click on Properties
    • Processor: Intel Core i5 or greater
    • OS (Operating System) Type: 64 bit (Windows 7, 8.1, or 10)
    • Installed Memory: 8 GB RAM recommended (4GB may only support 32-bit Cygnet, 8 GB is recommended for the 64-bit version of Cygnet)
