How to Remove Unwanted AntiVirus Programs

We do not recommend using 3rd-party, all-in-one security programs like AVG Internet Security, Trend Micro, Kaspersky, PandaNOD 32NortonAvast, McAfeeMalware Bytes, Webroot, ESET, or anything with 3rd party firewall protection. These programs may block the communication between Cygnet and the games or cause the Session report generation to fail.

These 3rd-party security programs, cleaning tools, registry tools, driver updating assistants, etc., they might install unnecessary software and may remove or block components used by Cygnet. So, it is best to avoid these apps on any computer dedicated for Cygnet.

We currently recommend using the built-in Windows Defender for Windows 8.1 or higher and Microsoft Security Essentials for Windows 7.  Be sure to stay up to date with all Windows security updates.

If you have any of the above 3rd party programs installed, you may need to uninstall them before Cygnet will be able to work properly. Below are some basic instructions for how to remove these programs.

To remove a program that is installed on your computer, follow these steps:
  1. Click the Windows Start menu button, click Windows System folder, click Control Panel, and then click Uninstall a Program OR Add or Remove Programs.  You may also search for Control Panel in the taskbar search box.
  2. In the Currently installed programs list, click to select the program that you want to remove, and then right-click and select Remove or Uninstall.
  3. If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click Yes. The removal may require that you restart your computer when completed.
