Determining what DirectX version you have

Determining DirectX version:

  1. In Windows click on the START button
  2. Click on Run...
  3. At the prompt type: dxdiag.  Then click OK. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool window will appear.
  4. Under System Information (text is blue)...look for DirectX Version:
  5. If it says DirectX 9.0c then you are OK. You have the latest version.
  6. If necessary download DirectX 9.0c from Microsofts website
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx /
