Several neurofeedback programs use internet protocol (IP) to communicate with each other. This protocol is monitored and protected by the Windows Firewall or by 3rd party firewall software such as Zone Alarm, McAffee and Symantec (Norton) security suites. Even though IP is used these programs do not actually acess the internet but only communicate localy.
Programs that may require firewall configuration:
BioExplorer
BrainMaster
EEG INFO Alpha Theta Module
Particle Editor - Somatic Vision
Inner Tube - Somatic Vision
How to Configure Windows Firewall to allow proper communication between programs:
Click on Windows Start Button
Click Run

Type in "firewall.cpl" and click OK

Click on the Exceptions Tab in the Windows Firewall Window. Any programs listed here with a check mark next to them will be allowed to communicate unimpeded by the firewall.

Click on Add Program...
Highlight the program you would like to add by clicking on it and then click OK.

The program you chose should now be visible on the Exceptions list. Make sure that it has a check mark next to it and click OK to finish.
