Cygnet has an artifact detection and removal feature. It allows the software to detect eye blinks, movement or other artifacts. The artifact inhibit has two visible elements: a flashing light and a slider to the right of the oscilloscope. The flashing light illuminates every time an artifact is detected and removed from the signal. The sensitivity of this feature is controlled by the slider. The lower the slider the more sensitive the logic reacts to artifacts. When needed, an approximate value of 2.0 on the artifact slider is enough to remove most artifacts quite reliably. The parts of the EEG removed are shown in grey.
