changing around the connection settings in the games

Question:

I'd like to change the connection settings between the games and Cygnet to effect how the games respond to the EEG signal.

Answer:

Please don't do that!

The feedback is handled both by the Cygnet software, and by the game. Playing with the connections between the two products can have very unexpected and possibly undesirable results. The way the games interface with the neurofeedback has been extensively tested in clinical environments over many hundreds of hours, and is constantly refined based on current thinking, and based on almost 30 years of experience. This careful implementation of the feedback signal into the games is part of what makes Cygnet so effective.

To play with those settings is not advised.

Why are the settings there if they are not supposed to be changed?

This is legacy support included from other implementations of the games on other products that do not have FDA clearance, or rigorous testing like Cygnet does.
